Crispy Chicken Burger | Part of Burger Week

We end Burger Week with our take on a southern-style Crispy Chicken Burger. Our take is healthier than the deep-fried version but is every bit as crispy thanks to our not so secret ingredient, cornflakes!

Instructions

  1. Add vinegar to milk and let rest for 5 minutes.
  2. Place milk mixture in a large bowl with garlic, salt and pepper, mix until combined.
  3. Add chicken to the milk mixture and marinate for at least 1 hour in the fridge.
  4. Place the cornflakes in a food processor and pulse once or twice, you’re looking for small flakes not powder.
  5. In a large plate, mix paprika, garlic and salt and pepper with the cornflakes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  7. Remove chicken, one piece at a time from the milk mixture, shaking off excess milk, then coat the chicken in the cornflake mixture.
  8. Place coated chicken on a baking sheet, sprinkle with oil.
  9. Bake chicken for 15-20 minutes.
  10. Serve in a bun as a burger or as a cutlet.
