Homemade Falafel

These Homemade Falafels are amazing! We’ve tried a bunch of recipes and these are by far the best we’ve ever made. The secret is to start with dried chickpeas. Make them this week and tag us on Instagram if you do.

Instructions

  1. Soak chickpeas in water overnight. Water should be 2 inches above the top of the chickpeas.
  2. Discard soaking water and rinse chickpeas under cold water until the water runs clear.
  3. Place the chickpeas in a food processor along with all the other ingredients, excluding the oil you’ll need for frying.
  4. Transfer the chickpea mixture to a large bowl and stir. Place mixture in the fridge for 1-2 hours, or overnight.
  5. Over medium-high heat, heat frying oil. You need about 2 inches of oil and it should be around 350 degrees F.
  6. Form golf ball-sized compressed balls and carefully place them into the oil. Fry 4-5 balls at a time for 3-5 minutes, flipping midway through.
  7. Remove from oil and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve with our Tahini Sauce recipe, it’s the best you’ll ever try!
