You know what’s better than baked pretzels? Mini baked pretzels! These are delicious and so easy to make. Try them sweet with cinnamon and sugar, or savory with salt, garlic, or zaatar! Top them however you like, just as long as you make them!

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm water, yeast and sugar together. Set aside and let bloom for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt together.
  3. Make a well in the flour and add the yeast and water mix. Work the dough until combined. You may need to add water or flour to get the right consistency.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
  5. Let dough rest covered for an hour.
  6. Once rested, divide dough into 4 and then divide those 4 into 4 for a total of 16 equal pieces of dough.
  7. Bring 6 cups of water to a boil. At baking soda.
  8. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  9. While waiting for the water to boil, roll dough into strands about 12 inches long.
  10. Form strands into a pretzel by twisting the ends together to form a loop, then fold back up the ends. Be sure to press the ends into the loop.
  11. Once formed, boil your pretzel in small batches for 10 seconds each.
  12. Remove from water and let drip on a wire rack allowing the water to run off. While wet, add optional toppings if desired.
  13. Transfer pretzels to a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  14. Let cool for 5 minutes before enjoying!
