Homemade vegetable Pizza

It’s time to make your own Pizza and we’re here to help! This is a long episode, but not because of the recipe! Homemade Pizza’s really easy to make and tastes out of this world. Best part? Everyone gets to make their own and with only the toppings they want!

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and warm water. Set aside and let proof for 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, mix both flours, garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt.
  3. Once proofed, add the yeast water to the flour and mix with a wooden spoon until a dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic; about 5 minutes.
  5. Oil sides of a large bowl. Place the dough in the bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rest for an hour.
  6. During the rest time, lightly slice mushrooms, peppers, and onions. Place the vegetables in a bowl and cook in the microwave on high for 3 minutes. Discard liquid and set aside.
  7. Shred mozzarella and chop olives if whole and set aside.
  8. 15 minutes before your dough is ready, preheat the oven to 450°F with a shelf in the top position.
  9. Once the dough has rested, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. If making round pizzas, cut in half, and using a rolling pin, roll each half into a 10-inch round. Once round, roll up the edges if desired. Place dough on a pizza sheet, or pizza stone. If making a sheet-pan pizza, roll dough to the size of your pan. Lightly oil the sheet-pan before placing the dough on the pan.
  10. Time for toppings. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Then top the sauce with the vegetables. Top vegetables with the cheese and then place the olives and sun-dried tomatoes on top. Note: If adding pepperoni or other meat, add them below the vegetables.
  11. Place pizza in the oven on the top shelf for 12-15 minutes until the cheese melts but doesn’t brown too much. If making 2 round pizzas, bake 1 at a time or place the second pizza in the oven on a lower shelf 5 minutes after the first. Once the first pizza has been removed, place the second pizza on the top shelf to finish it off.
  12. Remove pizza and let cold for 5 minutes before cutting. Enjoy!
