Classic Beef Burger | Part of Burger Week

We don’t eat a lot of beef in our house, but we can’t have a burger week without the basics! When it comes to beef burgers, less is more and that’s reflected in this recipe. Looking for more flavor? Awesome, use this recipe as the base and build from here.

Instructions

  1. Finely dice onion and parsley. Mince garlic.
  2. In a large bowl, add all ingredients other than salt.
  3. Mix with your hands until incorporated but don’t overmix. You don’t want to manipulate the beef more than necessary.
  4. Preheat grill to medium-high.
  5. With your hands, take ¼ to ⅓ a pound of the beef mixture, between the size of a golf ball and a baseball, and form ½-inch to ¾-inch thin patties.
  6. Season with salt and pepper on both sides just prior to placing them on a well-oiled grill.
  7. You want to let the burger grill undisturbed touching it as little as possible. Do not press or flatten the patties. Flip the patties at the 4-minute mark for medium. Continue cooking until desired doneness.
  8. Serve on a lightly toasted homemade bun with some homemade Special Sauce.
